About Marek

Marek was born and raised in Poland, where he began his musical journey and received rigorous, conservatory-level training in piano performance, composition, and music therapy. He studied piano at the Silesian University and completed advanced studies in composition at the Music Academy in Wrocław. This strong European foundation shaped him into both an accomplished performer and a dedicated educator.
During his years in Poland, Marek performed professionally and taught students of many ages and skill levels. Over the course of his career, he has worked with several hundred students, helping each develop a love of music and achieve their personal goals. After relocating to the Greater Portland area, he continued teaching privately near Beaverton, sharing his passion for piano and classical music with a diverse community of learners.
With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Marek has worked with students ranging in age from 3 to 86. His teaching philosophy centers on two main goals:
1. Enriching Life Through Music
Marek guides students in developing solid pianistic skills, musical understanding, and lifelong enjoyment of the instrument. He believes music study enhances memory, strengthens cognitive development, and contributes to an overall enriched life.
In short: he teaches students who love music.
2. Nurturing Exceptional Musical Talent
For students pursuing a more intensive path, Marek offers high-level training tailored to competitions and advanced studies. His students have successfully participated in local, state, national, and international piano competitions.
Marek is an active member of the Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA) and the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC), staying connected with professional communities that support musical education and artistic growth.
Blending European artistry with patient, encouraging guidance, Marek provides expert instruction for both hobbyists and aspiring young artists—helping each student reach their fullest musical potential.
